Our Process:
Refinishing woodwork is the most economical solution for
those who do not want to spend a huge amount of money by
replacing or refacing cabinets, for example. Our
professional and skilled staff can refinish kitchen
cabinets, bathroom vanities, doors, casings, base, wood trim
to give your whole house a new look. We work on existing
stained woodwork, change the finish from stained to a
painted surface, or we can also repaint with the existing
color or completely change the color if you so desire.
Obtaining a professional finish involves some careful and
time-consuming steps. While each job needs to be evaluated
individually, the process generally involves:
1. Disassemble
We remove all the doors, drawers, hinges and hardware and
reinstall.
2. Clean and Prep
Cabinets are washed with special solution to remove any
grease or dirt build-up. Countertops and appliances are
completely masked off. Flooring is covered with drop cloths.
The room is sealed with plastic to prevent dust or paint
from spreading to the rest of the house. Woodwork is
thoroughly sanded and dusted. Primer is applied, dents and
scratches are repaired, followed by more sanding and
dusting. We next apply the finish enamel. Woodwork is
sprayed whenever possible, to accomplish the best finish
possible.
3. Stain or Paint
If the wood requires staining, the stain is applied prior to
spraying sealer and lacquer finish. If paint is being
applied, we spray two coats of primer and two coats of
finish paint. We use high quality oil, acrylic, or under
coat lacquer primers and enamels, satin or semi-gloss
finish. |
